THE MAYORESS OPENS VINOBLE 2010 WHICH WILL BRING TOGETHER 300 SPECIALISTS FROM AROUND TWENTY COUNTRIES AND 65 STANDS WITH THE BEST WINE BRANDS
Pilar Sánchez stresses the higher quality levels of the wines present and the more commercial and gastronomical aspects of the exhibiton

Jerez de la Frontera, 30th May 2010 – The Mayoress, Pilar Sánchez, together with the President of the Spanish Gastronomic Academy, Rafael Ansón, and the Commissioner of Vinoble 2010, Pancho Campo, opened this morning the Seventh Intenational Exhibiton of Noble Wines, or those classified as fortified, sweet or dessert wines, which until the coming wednesday 2nd June, will be taking place in the Monumental Palace of The Alcázar.

Pilar Sánchez opened her speach by stressing the value of welcoming Back Vinoble 2010 which is: "a window through which the world can gaze on the most precious wines of the world".

The foirst round of thanks went to: "the work of those in the Department of Trade, Foreign Promotion, and Economic Development of The Town Hall, as well as the other municipal departments involved in the organisation. And of course, to the Andalusian and Trade Promotion Agency of Andalusia, extend, for their collaboration to enable this biennial event to be a reality, thus confirming the mutual interest of both administrations for a salon that builds prestige and international relations."

She also congratulated the Technical Direction of The Wine Academy of Spain "for their dedication in being able to open the door for the world to this Seventh International Exhibition of Noble Wines with renewed energy and with new areas of focus for this edition", said the Mayoress.

Adding to this, she broke down the strategies of this current edition: "This event marks an end to the spring in Jerez showering them with enthusiasm for many reasons: to deepen our ancient culture, a hallmark of the city, enjoy the finest pairings; of the most prestigious wines ; open a trading platform and of course by the economic impact it has on the city and that it is even reflected in the hotel reservations which will increase dramatically during these days with respect to the average numbers for this time of year."

Pilar Sánchez continued by saying: "This year we have set three goals to overcome and improve the results of the latest edition: highlight, above all else, the quality and uniqueness of the wines present in the sample which will provide greater excellence for the 'label' of Vinoble Jerez brand; enhance the aspect of dining, for which we have the Royal Spanish Academy of Gastronomy. This prestigious organization will coordinate the presence and participation of renowned chefs who will be pairing food and wine as their main aimt. Four sessions will be conducted for the pairing, or harmonising with a national profile level of haute cuisine. For this, we have chosen an emblematic venue in the 15th Century Torre de Homenaje. The third goal we set ourselves is to promote Vinoble 2010 as a business meeting venue with the firm hope that the 65 exhibitors who show off the richest wines of the world's finest crops will serve as a showcase both for business and capitalize on their presence . In this sense I would add that we will have more than 300 specialists from a dozen countries, including buyers, specifiers and guests and has experienced a surge of Asian buyers who will attend the meeting. "

The Mayoress also added that for this Seventh Edition, "we have decided to open this professional event up to the general public by organising Public Tastings which will take place in the Plaza del Arenal. Four tastings will be carried out in total and will be lead by notable personalities from the wine sector. The idea of this is to bring us closer to potential consumers and aficionados and make them more aware of this style of wine. Finally, this year we have introduced the First International Competition of Noble Wines. The idea came form the intention of adding to the Exhibtion which would prolong the effects of this event. The competition will be awarding certificates and Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals to the fifty highest scoring wines".

Before finally opening the event, Pilar Sánchez added that "these great values of Vinoble 2010, an Exhibition which will include new additions which as well as improving the prestige of this event, will help to imrpove the international understanding and its quality in all aspects. Jerez, the universal city of wine, opens its doors to Vinoble with a clear spirit of rennovation and to continuing to help the Exhibiton grow."
